Oil Tubing and Casing

The outside diameter of the tubing is generally 60.3 mm to 114.3 mm. Tubing end processing forms are: non-upset with thread and coupling, external upset with thread and coupling;plain end, non-upset with thread and coupling, external upset with thread and coupling. The main function of tubing is to transport crude oil and natural gas from the hydrocarbon reservoir to the surface after drilling completed. It is used to withstand the pressure generated during the production process.

Premium Connection

Drill Pipe

High Collapse Tubing and Casing

High collapse casing is the casing whose collapse resistance is above 15% over the standard data of API 5C2.

 

  • Design Principle

In accordance with the requirements of API BUL 5C3 for casing collapse and the requirement of inspection and device of oil field. we take the following measurements when the specification and grade is fixed.

  1、Decrease the residual stress of casing

  2、Improve the accuracy of wall thickness

  3、Improve the material’s yield strength

  4、Control pipe body conicity

 

Raw Materials

After reserch and trial production, the raw material for the production is limited to two brands 25 Mn2V and 30CrMo. The mechanical property of 25 Mn2V can fully meet the requirement of collapse resistance of the high collapse casing.

30CrMo has better material stability and as a kind of steel its hardenability is better owing to high content of elements like Cr, Mo and Mn. Meanwhile, carbon content is low and can undergo quenching and oil quenching.

Our company choose 25 Mn2V as the raw material for the production of high collapse casing.

2)、Measurement of residual stress

           Test of residual stress adopts Cutting Ring Method and the length of cutting ring is 3 times of the external diameter. Residual stress calculation formula is as below:

Surface Treatment: inner and outer thread will not be processed.

SD-2T

The connection adopts flush joint without use of coupling but the joint strength is equal to the pipe body.

Thread is API 8RD round thread, which is easy to process.

The seal adopts 30°cant seal with good seal ability.

The pin and box adopt the inside flat design with inner diameter of pipe end equal to the inner diameter of pipe body.

The connection designed with -20° reverse torque shoulder. The joint has high capability to resist.

Surface Treatment: inner and outer thread will not be processed.

SD-3T

SD-3T is the newly-developed connection.

Coupling connection type, the connection strength reaches to or over that of pipe body.

Thread is improved buttress thread with high connecting efficiency which is easy to process.

Main seal adopts taper to taper seal Structure with excellent seal ability.

The connection designed with -15°reverse torque shoulder, the joint has high capability to resist the compression, bend and over-torque loads.

The inner wall of pipe body aligns with the coupling inner wall.

Surface treatment, internal thread should be processed sand blasting.

SD-4T

The connection adopts flush joint, the “two step” connection.

The connection adopts the flush joint whose connection strength is high and is easy to process.

Main seal adopts taper to taper seal Structure with excellent seal ability.

The connection adopts the “two step” designed with -30°reverse torque shoulder and 90°torque shoulder, which increases Composite load capacity and seal ability.

Surface treatment, internal and outer thread should be processed sand blasting.

SD-5T

Integral connection, the connection strength reaches to or over that of pipe body.

Threads is improved buttress thread with high connecting efficiency.

Main seal adopts taper to taper seal structure with excellent seal ability.

The connection designed with both -30°reverse torque shoulder and 90°torque shoulder which enhance its seal ability and connection capacity of bearing combined load.

Surface treatment: Both external and internal threads should be phosphated or processed sand blasting.

1、Overview

According to relevant data, geological reserve of heavy oil around the globe is 10 times than crude oil. But API standard has not the heavy oil casing for thermal recovery oil, and there is no mill in the domestic and abroad to develop the casing for heavy oil explotation. So the oil field can only use the common API casing whose damage rate is higher. The demand for the process of the heavy oil explotation is higher. In this case, our company, Jiangsu Shined Petroleum Equipment Manufacturing Co,.LTD, has developed a series of heat insulated casing used for oil exploration of thermal recovery wells.

 

2、Features of the products

This series of high-level grade casing for heavy oil exploration has been developed by using material with specific elements on the bases of broad inspection and study of the mechanical characteristics of casing in the process of heavy oil exploration and failure types of the casing. The material is of good thermal stability and the strength property still remains stable at the temperature of 350o. It has better seal property and high thermal durability.
